In difficult times, nothing heals more than art and community. Enter Project HeART. A philanthropic initiative created by Sarah Muzquiz and Madi Mercurio designed to give back through art and a variety of wellness modalities. In partnership with Luciana of California English, the first edition of Project HeART was a major success showcasing just how powerful art and community can be for healing.

Both being from Los Angeles, Project HeART came to fruition when Sarah and Madi decided to alchemize their feelings of hopelessness into creative action. Sarah Muzquiz shared,

"Project HeART came to be...me and my best friend Madi were trying to figure out how to give back to the victims of the LA wildfires. We thought instead of making art for ourselves we could make art for others. So our goal tonight is to put together 200 kits (plant charms)."

By the end of the evening, not only did Project HeART successfully assemble 200 art kits to be donated to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires, but Project HeART also raised over $500 for the Firefighter Fund through its raffle and sponsors: Honor Pilates, Pigment, Activate House, Spa Kingston, West & Golden Aesthetics (Del Mar), OB Coffee & Plants, Good Omen Coffee Co., Kafe Sito, Soul Plunge, Brez, Magic Mind, Wild Island Collective, and IMBŌDHI.

A night full of intention came to its final conclusion with a calming sound bath facilitated by Melissa and Kahla of Meraki Spaces. An hour of pure bliss, calming the mind and chatter. Solely focusing on the breath. Being guided deeper into oneself by enchanting singing bowls and a hypnotizing rainstick.

It's good to know this won't be that last edition of Project HeART. There is a special magic in coming together to give back to a greater cause. It was a confident reminder that so much can be achieved with collective spirit and art as a guide. Be sure to follow Project HeART on Instagram to stay up to date with upcoming events. Until next time!
